The Alabama Hospital Association honored a local hospital youth volunteer at the state conference of the Alabama Council of Hospital Auxiliaries in Guntersville this week. East Limestone High School student Ashley Wiggins with Athens-Limestone Hospital was selected for the statewide award based on her outstanding service to her hospital.
Wiggins has dedicated more than 300 hours working in various roles, including guest services, to greet and assist visitors in navigating the hospital and assisting nursing staff on one of ALH’s medical-surgical patient floors. She was recently accepted into the hospital’s prestigious Ambassador Program, where she is currently organizing a service project with other students. Hospital leaders describe her as hard-working and a leader.
