Game: Ardmore (0-4) at Elkmont (3-2)
The Skinny: The Tigers have won eight straight in the series — the average margin of victory nearly 28 points.
Coach Speak: “Our schools are seven miles apart, so there’s a lot of crossover … which means it’s a huge rivalry. Coach (Chris) Bunio and his team have been very successful this year, so having last week off will be huge for us getting ready for this game.” — Ardmore’s Jonathan Snider
Coach Speak: “These kids grew up with each other, so there are a lot of friends on either sideline who are looking forward to some bragging rights. In a rivalry game, anything can happen. Ardmore is going to bring a unique challenge, so I know the whole community is pumped to see us face off.” — Elkmont’s Chris Bunio
Game: Clements (2-3) at D.A.R. (0-5)
The Skinny: The Patriots won last year’s meeting (34-24) but have been outscored 268-49 so far this season.
Coach Speak: “D.A.R. is winless so far, but we are going to be the smallest school they’ve played so far. It’s our homecoming this weekend and I expect them to try and spoil that for us, so we are going to prepare for them like any other game.” — Clements’ Michael Parker
Game: East Limestone (0-5) at West Limestone (3-2)
The Skinny: The Wildcats have tallied two straight wins against the Indians and now lead the all-time series 26-25.
Coach Speak: “We’ve had one of our best weeks of practice probably all year and you can tell we are excited to go and play at West Limestone for their homecoming. The rivalry really does all of the motivating that you need. Our kids know a lot of their kids, so we are looking forward to playing the Wildcats.” — East Limestone’s Clint Woodfin
Coach Speak: “It’s a classic rivalry — East versus West. If someone said there was only one game you could win all year, it’d be this one. We expect a big and athletic East Limestone team to come over here and give us their best shot and we need to be ready to give our best shot right back.” — West Limestone’s Shelby Davis
Game: Muscle Shoals (5-0) at James Clemens (4-1)
The Skinny: The Class 6A No. 5 Trojans won last year’s contest — the first-ever between the schools — 38-10.
Game: Columbia (0-5) at Tanner (3-2)
The Skinny: The Rattlers are 3-0 all-time against the Eagles, who have lost 76 straight games dating to 2015.
Coach Speak: “This is probably the best Columbia team I’ve seen on film. They have a good amount of athletes all over the field who are just as good as our athletes. This will be one of those games that is decided in the trenches, and if we can dominate the trenches, we should control the game.” — Tanner’s Oscar Bonds
