2023 Athens Homecoming Parade

The 2023 Athens High School Homecoming Parade made its way through the city Friday afternoon, Sept. 22, ahead of the Golden Eagles’ game against the Mae Jemison Jaguars. The Athens High School senior class took first place in this year’s “Jolt the Jaguars” themed float competition. The sophomore class finished in second.

Fans were introduced to the 2023 Athens High School Homecoming Court and Mr. and Miss AHS. They are as follows.

Mr. & Miss AHS- Nelson Brown and Avery Paysinger

Seniors- Catherine Johnstone, Denise Salgado and Katrina Wiggins

Juniors- Annie Lovvorn and Jaylina Ridgle

Sophomores- Miracle Cain and Keily Figueroa

Freshman- Rayne Brewer and Aubree Lagunas

Sonia Young served as this year’s Grand Marshall.

Miss Denise Salgado was crowned Homecoming Queen during Friday night’s Homecoming ceremony.
