Athens High pep rally canceled due to weather

The Athens High School Pep Rally on The Square set for this afternoon has been canceled due to the likelihood of inclement weather.

The National Weather Service has forecast “numerous showers and thunderstorms” today and tonight, which could lead to flash flooding and strong, possibly damaging winds.

Similar showers and storms are expected through the weekend. Residents are encouraged to stay weather aware.
