Athens to host 60 softball teams Thursday

The Elite 50 Alabama National Invitational Showcase, featuring 60 teams, will be taking place today through Sunday at the Athens Sportsplex, weather permitting. There will also be tournaments taking place in Decatur.

Teams will be coming from Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Texas and Tennessee.

The teams playing in Athens will be between ages 14-16.
