FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) — Jason Isbell is bringing a big-city music festival to his corner of small-town Alabama.
The north Alabama native and his band, The 400 Unit, are among the performers at the inaugural ShoalsFest, scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Florence.
Isbell says the event is an opportunity for residents of the Shoals area of northwest Alabama to enjoy a big-city festival in their own backyards. The event website says tickets are sold out.
Other acts include Sheryl Crow, Mavis Staples, and Isbell’s wife, Amanda Shires. The TimesDaily reports a second stage will feature Rob Aldridge and The Proponents, The Kernal, The Prescriptions and Caleb Elliott.
The festival is being held in Florence’s McFarland Park.
