Fireworks explode in the sky over Athens Thursday as part of the annual Red, White and Boom Fireworks Show. The show, which was supposed to have kicked off at 8 p.m., was delayed by an hour because of thunderstorms, which brought gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rain. Despite the delay a number of patriotic revelers pack into parking lots near the Athens High School stadium to watch the display.
