A motorist was injured Monday afternoon when a truck pulling a camper overturned on Interstate 65 in Limestone County.
One person was pinned under the wreckage and had to be extricated, said Athens Fire & Rescue Chief Bryan Thornton.
An MedEvac helicopter transported the patient to an area hospital, Thornton said. The northbound lanes of traffic were shut down to let the helicopter land and emergency medical personnel rescue the motorist.
Thornton said his department received a call about the single-vehicle wreck at 1:22 p.m. Monday.
The accident occurred in the southbound lane of I-65, just north of Exit 351.
Alabama state troopers are investigating.
