Items that have not been published within one month are typically discarded.
Someone with the Athens City School Board needs to explain why they sold the property on Lucas Ferry without giving other developers/ builders a chance to purchase. It was bought with taxpayer funds and taxpayers deserved to get the most for the property when it was sold.
Very disappointing that our elected city and county officials each donate $5,000 of our tax money to a new walking/bicycle trail when we have roads that need repairing. There are plenty of existing trails that are not currently utilized. Amazing that they can find grants for all types of trails but can’t get the railroad underpass traffic problem construction started for three years.
