• Friends and Family Day. Frazier Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will celebrate Friends and Family Day at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 23, at the church. The Rev. Ollie Hatchett of Huntsville will bring the message.

• Men’s Day. Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 16439 Lindsay Road, Tanner, will celebrate Men’s Day 11 a.m. Sunday, June 23. Julian Jude, associate minister of Fresh Wind Church, will be speaker. Everyone welcome.

• May’s Memorial VBS. May’s Memorial Baptist Church will host “Hero Central” vacation Bible school 6-8 p.m. June 24-27 at the church, 23636 Alabama 251, halfway between Athens and Ardmore. A kickoff celebration will be 5–7 p.m. Sunday, June 23, with music, puppets, games, face painting, Kona Ice, Bible story, photo booth, a visit from Oak Grove-Thach Fire Department, superhero costume contest, and more. • North Athens VBS. North Athens Church of Christ will host vacation Bible school 6-8 p.m. June 24-27 at 19159 Alabama 127, Athens. More information: 256-874-1941.

• West Highland VBS. West Highland Baptist Church will host “Giddy-Up Junction” vacation Bible school 6-8 p.m. June 26-28. A meal will be served each day at 5:30 p.m. Classes available for ages 2 through sixth grade. The church will host Family Day 4-6 p.m. Saturday, June 29.

• Homecoming. Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 16439 Lindsay Road, Tanner, will celebrate homecoming 11 a.m. Sunday, July 7. Timothy Townsend, senior pastor of Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church, will be guest speaker accompanied by Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church and choir. All members, former members, family and friends are invited to come worship and fellowship with us.

• Fundraiser. Berea Baptist Church will host gospel singing to raise funds for Project Life Saver, 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 12, at the church, 16779 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens. Featured acts include the Berea Choir, Dustin Taylor and Alliance Quartet.

• Summer Bible study. Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church will hold summer Bible study 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 28 at the Pincham-Lincoln Center on Trinity Circle, Athens. • Preschool registration. New Life Assembly of God, 16768 U.S. 72, Athens, is enrolling students for its child-development program. The program, for children ages 6 weeks through prekindergarten, is 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Anyone who recommends someone else is eligible for $25 off the first week’s tuition.
