A report of a fight in progress outside the Piggly Wiggly in Elkmont Wednesday evening resulted in two arrests on drug charges, an official said.
Brandon Shane Mitchell, 40, of 13463 Pulaski Pike Road, Ardmore, and Kayla Erin Meagher, 30, of 385 New Center Church Road, Shelbyville, Tennessee, were each arrested on charges of trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Two Limestone County sheriff’s deputies were called to a fight in progress at the grocery store on Alabama 127. The deputies arrived to find two suspects who they believed were impaired and detained them. While searching their car, deputies found a bag containing methamphetamine and called for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.
Together, the deputies and narcotics investigators confiscated 37 grams (1.3 ounces) of methamphetamine, 7 grams of marijuana and a loaded pistol and arrested Mitchell and Meagher.
