• Trail ride event for St. Jude. The Cowboy Church of Colbert County and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital will host an inaugural trail ride event Friday and Saturday, June 7-8, at the church at 3440 Alabama 157, Leighton. Includes new trails, gospel concert, auction, concessions and vendors. Cost: Horse riders, $35 (two days) and non-riders, $10. Free primitive camping for riders. No reservations required. Bring lawn chairs. Rain or shine. Friday’s events: WBTG’s Jerry Edgil as emcee; 5 p.m., Stampede by Cowboy Church of Colbert County Band; 6 p.m., Ray & Lamar; 7 p.m., Broken Vessels; 8 p.m., Gerald Crabb and Billy Lawson. • Preschool registration. New Life Assembly of God, 16768 U.S. 72, Athens, is enrolling students for its child-development program.
