MONTGOMERY (AP) — Authorities say one man is dead and another is seriously injured following two separate crashes on a lake in Alabama.

News outlets report that a boat driven by 56-year-old David George Goodling collided with another boat on Lake Martin driven by 62-year-old Norman Ray Harris of Leeds just after dark on Friday night.

Goodling’s boat stayed in the water, while the injured Harris called a friend who took him to a hospital.

Goodling’s badly damaged boat remained on the water, and another boat struck it about an hour later. That driver called authorities, and Goodling’s body was found inside the vessel.

Authorities haven’t announced any charges, and state marine police are still investigating the crashes.
