Centers are open 7:30 a.m.–1 p.m.

Mondays through Thursdays.

Centers close 12:30 p.m. Fridays.

Menus

Monday: Chopped barbecue chicken sandwich, corn, diced potatoes, sugar cookie, blended juice and milk;

Tuesday: Seasoned chicken thigh and drumstick, yellow rice with red peppers, green peas, peaches, bread, yellow cake and milk;

Wednesday: Beef hot dog, baked beans, coleslaw, diced onions, hot apple cobbler, orange-pineapple juice and milk or chocolate milk;

Thursday: Herbed garlic meatballs, parslied rice, green beans, mandarin oranges, dinner roll, mini Moon Pie, milk;

Friday: Pork riblet with mushroom gravy, mashed sweet potatoes, collard greens, apple sauce, cornbread, oatmeal creme pie and milk or buttermilk.

• Council on Aging has a program through Senior Rx that helps residents 55 or older or disabled acquire their prescriptions free. Call Carla Sims at 256-233-6412.

• Fun Fest will be May 8 at Sharon Johnston Park. Rain date is May 9. Advanced tickets may be purchased at the Council on Aging office at 503 S. Jefferson St., Suite A, in Athens, for $3. Tickets are $4 at the gate.
