Torrential rain Friday night and early Saturday morning has caused the cancellation of the Limestone County Softball Tournament.

The decision was made Saturday morning that the field at Elkmont High School, which was hosting the tournament, was too wet to play after the downpour.

The tournament was originally scheduled to be a double-elimination tournament taking place Friday and Saturday. Friday’s games were canceled and the tournament was rescheduled to a one-day, single-elimination event.

Unfortunately, the rain lasted longer than expected and made the softball field unplayable, coaches determined.
