• Easter service. Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 14204 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens, will host an Easter sunrise service 6 a.m. Sunday, April 21. Easter program begins at 10.

• Easter service. The Downs family will hold a special Easter “son rise” service titled “He Has Risen!” at 6 a.m. Sunday, April 21, at 15591 Ripley Road, weather permitting. • ALMA. Athens Limestone Ministerial Alliance invites everyone to the annual Community Easter SonRise Service 6:30-7 a.m. Sunday, April 21, on the steps of Waters Hall at Athens State University.

• Men’s conference. Round Island Creek Missionary Baptist Association will host a men’s conference April 26-27. Cost is $120 per church, or the price of 12 tickets. • Gospel jubilee. The Southern Gospel Jubilee will be held 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, at Muscle Shoals Baptist Church, 621 River Road, Muscle Shoals. The groups include Heavens Echoes, Lovelace Family, Unity 4, Caltons and Woodals. Free admission but offering accepted. More information: 256-278-0588.

• Clothing giveaway. St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church will host a clothing giveaway 8 a.m.–noon Saturday, April 27, at the church, 740 W. Sanderfer Road, Athens.

• Health fair. Davids Temple Church will host a health fair and blood drive 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at the church on Stewart Road in Tanner. LifeSouth Bloodmobile and Huntsville Hospital’s mobile unit will be present.

• Mother Marie McDade Brunch. Alabama Fork CPCA will host the 2019 Mother Marie McDade Brunch at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the church. This free community brunch and ministry outreach for widows and orphans will also feature a panel moderated by Dr. Quanda Stevenson, who will be the keynote speaker. The Limestone County Extension Office will have activities for children. Backpacks of self-care items will be collected for children in the foster care system. • Grief workshop. Bright Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America will host “Successfully Processing Tragedy,” a free workshop 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, on growing stronger from the pain of death, marital issues, loss of health and long sickness. • Appreciation banquet. Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church will honor Pastor Damon T. Betts for 25 years of service to the church and community through an appreciation banquet 6 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the church’s family life center. • Missionary day. Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church will be 14204 Lucas Ferry Road will hold its annual missionary day 11 a.m. Sunday, May 5. Theme is “Saved by Faith; Called to Work.” Speaker will be minister Bernetta Houston, associate minister of Little Zion M.B. Church. Everyone welcome.

• Music appreciation day. Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church, 16439 Lindsay Road, Tanner, will host a musicians appreciation day honoring Kelvin Wooten and Jarrett Collier at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 5. The event features songs by Mallory Powell, Kaleah Wooten, Arthur Jordan, 3 Lanes Crossing and Shawn Moore. The Rev. Charles Simmons is pastor and everyone is welcome. • Preschool registration. New Life Assembly of God at 16768 U.S. 72, Athens, is enrolling students for its child-development program. The program, for children ages 6 weeks through prekindergarten, is 6 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Anyone who recommends someone else is eligible for $25 off the first week’s tuition.
