Lindsay Lane sweeps Tanner

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy closed its baseball season with a bang Tuesday, sweeping two games from Tanner in convincing fashion.

The Lions won the first game 13-2 before defeating the Rattlers 17-2 in the second game, scoring 12 runs in the top of the fifth inning.

Camden Shields was the hitting star in the first game. Shields had three hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in three runs for LLCA. Charlie Morrison and Camryn Peden also had doubles for the Lions. Max Morrison also had a hit and two RBIs in the victory. Charlie Morrison was the winning pitcher, striking out 11 batters in five innings.

B.J. Lucas and DaShaun McNabb each had a hit and an RBI for Tanner.

Lindsay Lane turned a close game into a blowout with 12 runs in the top of the fifth inning in the second game. The Lions had 19 hits in the game. Charlie Morrison had three hits, including two doubles, and four RBIs, while Shields also had three hits, two of them being doubles. Seth Mitchell also had three hits for the Lions.

Peden, Ben Frasier, Brady Anderson and Ray Anderson each had two hits for LLCA.

Lucas, Trevor Keenum, Hayden Lewter and Elnneaus Orr each had a hit for Tanner.

Athens 10, Elkmont 4

Athens scored six runs in the bottom of the third inning and cruised to a victory over Elkmont in its regular-season finale Tuesday.

James Clem had three hits to lead Athens, while Tucker Stockham had two hits and two RBIs. Dylan Johnston also had two hits for the Golden Eagles. Parker Willoughby had a hit and two RBIs, with Josh Simmons, Tommy White and Tyde Robinson each having a hit and an RBI.

Jaevan Jackson had three hits and two RBIs to lead Elkmont, while Preston Robinson had two hits and drove in a run. Jadon Adams had a hit and an RBI for the Red Devils as well.

Clements 15, Mae Jemison 11

Clements jumped out to a huge lead and hung on for a victory in the season finale against Mae Jemison Tuesday.

The Colts scored runs in every inning and led 15-4 going into the bottom of the seventh. Mae Jemison scored seven runs in the inning to close the gap, but Clements was able to quell the rally.

Holden Graves had four hits, including two triples, and four RBIs to lead Clements. Hayden Graves and Quez Redus had two hits and two RBIs each. Jacob Guimarin also had two hits and drove in a run for the Colts.

Ian Ezell and Cole Wales each had a hit and an RBI for the Colts. Guimarin was the winning pitcher.

Athens Bible (girls) 2, Clements 1

Tanner Ledbetter scored a goal in overtime Tuesday to lift Athens Bible School to a win over Clements.

The game was tied 1-1 after regulation, with Sabrina Webb scoring for Athens Bible off an assist from Ledbetter. Leslie Gonzalez scored the goal for Clements.

Athens Bible goalkeeper Molly Chumbley had eight saves.

Athens Bible also won the boys game, defeating Clements 5-1. Stats from that game were not available.
