Ardmore 6, East Limestone 1
Ardmore kept its Class 5A playoffs alive with a big win over East Limestone Tuesday evening.
The Tigers got outstanding pitching performances from Tucker Reed and Bill Williams, who shut down the East Limestone offense. Reed pitched the first five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out 11. Williams closed the game by pitching the final two scoreless innings.
Ardmore jumped on top with two runs in the second and another in the third. East Limestone closed the gap with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Tigers immediately answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame.
Williams then came in to pitch and shut down the Indians in the final two innings.
Bryson Rolin and Blake Martin each had a hit and two RBIs for Ardmore, while Landon Martin and Spike Woods also drove in runs for the Tigers.
Brady Kassay and Drew Harting each had a hit for East Limestone.
East Limestone (4-1 area) will host Ardmore today in a doubleheader. Due to its sweep of Madison Academy earlier this season, the Indians have already clinched the Class 5A, Area 16 championship. Ardmore (2-3 area) will have to beat East Limestone and hope Madison County defeats Madison County in order to take the second spot in the area.
