Brooks took a 3-2 lead into the seventh inning, but West Limestone scored a run in the top of the seventh on an error to tie the score. It could have been more, as the Wildcats had the bases loaded with one out, but Braden Tuten hit a hard line drive right at the second baseman, who was able to catch it and turn a double play to keep the game tied.
Brooks then got a leadoff single by Charlie Crowley, who then scored the winning two batters later via an error. Brooks is now 2-0 in the area, and needs just one win over Elkmont (0-2) next week in order to win the area title.
Cooper Phillips and Dylan Simmons led West Limestone with two hits each, while Clayten Pugh and Ryan Britt also had hits for the Wildcats.
West Limestone finished its area games with a 2-2 record, having swept Elkmont last week. The Wildcats are the runner-up in the three-team region and will play a road game in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
