Motorists can expect daytime single-lane closures for paving on Interstate 65 between Exit 351 at U.S. 72 in Athens and Exit 347 at Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation.

Weather permitting, Wiregrass Construction will work from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays for the next two to four weeks, ALDOT North Region Public Information Officer Seth Burkett said.

“Nighttime temperatures currently do not meet materials requirements, but the contractor will switch to night work once temperatures rise,” Burkett said.

The $15.3-million resurfacing project covers 12.4 miles of I-65 between milepost 339, north of the Tennessee River Bridge, and Exit 351 at U.S 72.
