An Elkmont woman was killed Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash on Alabama 99, State Troopers said.

Brittany Lea Bennett, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred at 7:20 a.m. near the intersection of Dupree Drive.

Troopers said Bennett was the driver of a 2002 Lincoln Town Car that crossed the center line and struck a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado head-on.

The driver of the truck was taken to Athens-Limestone Hospital for his injuries.

Troopers said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
