Prep Softball: Ardmore outlasts Athens, 5-4

Ardmore broke open a tie game with two runs in the top of the fourth inning and held on to defeat Athens 5-4 Monday.
Ardmore took a 3-1 lead after two innings, but Athens came back to tie the game with two runs in the bottom of the third. However, Ardmore came right back with two runs in the top of the fourth to go up 5-3.

Those were all the runs Ardmore pitcher Sydney Hall needed. She shut down Athens the remainder of the game. Athens got a final run in the bottom of the seventh, but Hall got the final batter to fly out to end the game.
LB Smith had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs for Ardmore, while Bo Riley had two hits, including a double, and drove in a run.
Athens was led by Morgan Stiles, who had three hits. Mary Greg Anderson had two hits and an RBI, while Olivia McCurry had a hit and two RBIs. Ali Patterson also had a double for the Golden Eagles.
