A Madison man and Tennessee woman are facing numerous charges after a high-speed pursuit Monday night that spanned two counties and resulted in two collisions, an official said.
Limestone County Sheriff’s deputy and spokesman Stephen Young said the incident began at the Budget Inn in Ardmore. Deputies observed a gold Ford Ranger with a switched tag, and attempted to stop the vehicle as it left the motel parking lot with inoperable tail lights.

Young said the driver, later identified as 25-year-old Mark Dylan Stacey of Madison, then led deputies on a pursuit that reached speeds of 90 mph. Stacey’s passenger was identified as 24-year-old Camryn Cagle of Fayetteville, Tennessee.
At one point, Young said, the suspects pushed a recliner out of the truck bed to interfere with deputies. The suspects also had help from another driver, who swerved and braked in an attempt to run the deputy off the road.
The pursuit took a path from Boyd’s Chapel Road to Sweet Springs Road to Pinedale Road, then south on Alabama 53 to Wall Triana Highway. The pursuit then went from Harvest Road and Alabama 251 to Van Dyke, Black and Elkton roads before ending with a crash at the intersection of Elkton Road and Elm Street. Young said Stacey ran the red light at the intersection and was hit by a vehicle that had the right of way.
After the collision, Stacey and Cagle ran behind a house. A deputy secured Cagle first, and eventually caught up with Stacey. Young said the deputy cut his hand while climbing a fence.
Once the suspects were in custody, deputies conducted a search of the pickup truck. Young said deputies found a large amount of methamphetamine, a scale and hypodermic needles. A small handgun was found when Cagle’s bag was searched.
Stacey was charged with drug trafficking, two counts of second-degree assault on a police officer, second-degree assault, attempting to elude, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence and criminal littering. Young said bond on the drug trafficking charge had not been set. Bond on the remaining charges was set at $19,500.

Young said investigators are seeking information about the driver who assisted the suspects. The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Chrysler Concord. Young said the driver twice attempted to interfere with the pursuit before turning north on Alabama 251 from Sweet Springs Road.
