Slaton is the girlfriend of Joseph Lee Davis, who walked off his work-release detail Monday at CPI on Alabama 127.

“When investigators interviewed Slaton as a person of interest in Davis’ escape, she confessed to providing Davis with a cell phone at his work site as well as bringing him money and alcohol along with food on occasion,” the release said. “Davis used the phone to communicate with Slaton and others to assist him with transportation during his escape.”

The search for Davis and the investigation remain ongoing. Anyone with information about Davis’ whereabouts is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office at 256-232-0111.
