CHRISTMAS PARADE: Deadline to register is Nov. 26

Those interested in participating in the annual Trustmark Christmas Parade have a small window of opportunity to register for the event.
Jacob Magnusson, branch manager of Trustmark Bank in downtown Athens, said the deadline to submit a registration packet is Nov. 26. Packets may be picked up at any Trustmark Bank location.

The parade is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, in downtown Athens.
This year’s grand marshal will be Athens Fire & Rescue Chief Bryan Thornton. Each year, the junior grand marshal is the student whose parade theme is chosen by the bank. This year, the junior grand marshal will be Neeci Tyler, a student at Cedar Hill Elementary School. Her winning theme was “Floats of Christmas Past.”
