- Roy Watkins, with Watkins Concrete, uses a sledgehammer to build a flower box in front of Hometown Market on Jefferson Street in Athens. Watkins and his fellow workers were bundled up Thursday due to the unseasonably cold temperatures in the region. The high temperature was in the upper 30s during the day, and dipped below freezing Thursday night. It won't be bitterly cold much longer, as temperatures are supposed to warm up for the weekend. High temperatures are supposed to be in the mid-50s Friday and in the low 60s Saturday, with sunny skies forecast throughout the weekend.
