Jingle Paws

Athens-Limestone Animal Shelter is gearing up once again to deck their North Pole Stroll Christmas tree with photos of area pets in their annual “Deck our Halls with Jingle Paws” fundraiser.

The shelter will have two trees at North Pole Stroll decorated with ornaments made with pet photos submitted by local residents. The cost to submit a photo is $10. Payments can be made by credit card, check made to ALAS or PayPal at https://bit.ly/ALASpaypal.

Jennifer White, a volunteer at the shelter, said the proceeds will go toward shelter expenses, from food and care to medications and funding rescues. Up to five photos can be submitted to White or the animal shelter by mail or email. They can also be submitted in person at the shelter.

Photos submitted by mail should be sent with payment and completed registration form in an envelope addressed to Jennifer White, 512 Sanders St., Athens, AL 35611 or Athens-Limestone Animal Shelter, 1701 U.S. 72 East, Athens, AL 35611.

Photos can also be submitted as an attachment to an email addressed to jennifercwhite@ymail.com. Anyone who chooses this method should make sure to also attach a completed registration form.

The photos should be 4-inches-by-6-inches and listed on the registration form with the pet’s name, photo description and owner’s information. To get a registration form, visit the shelter at 1701 U.S. 72 East in Athens, email jennifercwhite@ymail.com or send a message on Facebook to Jennifer Carter White.

White said they will begin decorating the trees during the last week of November and will add photos until Dec. 1. Photos will remain on display during North Pole Stroll in Athens’ Big Spring Park and will not be returned after.

While the shelter primarily handles cats and dogs, White said all pets are eligible for display.
