A line of strong storms will move quickly across the Tennessee Valley tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The primary threat with the storms will be widespread damaging winds of 60-70 mph, though a few tornadoes may be possible. The threat for severe storms will be highest in northwest portions of the state.

Storms will exit the area quickly to the east by sunrise or shortly thereafter.

The NWS said cold temperatures would filter in later this week and could bring widespread frost Saturday and Sunday mornings.
