An Ardmore woman is charged with first-degree theft of property after Athens police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle.
Police received a call Friday about a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe Sport taken from Athens Health and Rehabilitation on West Market Street, according to Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson. The vehicle’s owner told officers the vehicle was unlocked and the keys were in the car, Johnson said.
The car was located at a residence on Cedar Hill Road Saturday afternoon by Ardmore Police officer Jeremy Beavers, he said.
Laura Renee Hines, 34, of the 27000 block of Cedar Hill Road, Ardmore, was arrested by Investigator Kelly Fussell for taking the vehicle later the same day.
Hines was booked at the Athens Police Department and transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
