ATHENS (AP) — Athens State University is hiring a search firm to help it look for its next president.
The university will pay $67,500 to Academic Search of Washington to help recruit the school’s next president, according to a report by the The Decatur Daily reports.
Robert Glenn, who has been president of Athens State for 10 years, left in July to become president of the University of Houston-Victoria in Texas.
Spokesman Chris Latham says the university hopes to have a new president by next fall.
Athens State is a public university offering bachelor’s degrees to students who have already completed freshman and sophomore coursework, as well as some master’s degrees.
The university hired Ron Ingle as interim president from a company that provides temporary college administrators.
Ingle was interim provost at Athens State in 2015 and 2016.
