Rogersville Police Department and the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office teamed up Friday to search a home, which led to a foot chase, six arrests and the seizure of drugs and firearms, LCSO announced.
The LCSO narcotics unit and Rogersville police officers went to 707 W. Pryor St. in Athens at 2 a.m. to serve a search warrant. When investigators arrived, 24-year-old Mark Dylan Stacey of Madison ran from a vehicle in the driveway, tossing a loaded pistol and a bag of methamphetamine as he ran, said sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Stephen Young.
Investigators arrested five suspects at the scene and then used tracking dogs from Limestone Correctional Facility to find Stacy a few blocks from the home. Inside the home, investigators found firearms, drug paraphernalia and about 5 ounces of methamphetamine.
“They also found marijuana, pills, methamphetamine and a pistol scattered in and around the vehicle that was in the driveway, in addition to the methamphetamine and pistol that Stacey had tossed, which investigators also recovered,” Young said.
