Elkmont man dies in single-vehicle crash

An Elkmont man died Saturday night after he lost control of his truck on Alabama 99, Limestone County Coroner Mike West said Sunday.

The News Courier’s news partner, WAFF-48, reported the single-vehicle crash occurred at 10:18 p.m. and claimed the life of 48-year-old Ronald Lee Haggard. West said Haggard’s truck went off one side of the road, crossed to the other side and flipped several times before stopping.

WAFF reported Haggard was not wearing a seat belt at the time and was ejected from the vehicle. Alabama State Troopers are continuing to investigate the accident.
