Elkmont shut out by Wilson, 21-0

Wilson scored a touchdown in each of the first three quarters and shut out Elkmont as the Warriors took a 21-0 victory over the Red Devils in Class 4A, Region 8 play.
Both teams had success running the ball, but the difference in the game was Wilson’s passing attack, which accounted for 177 yards as opposed to just seven passing yards for Elkmont.

Elkmont did rush the ball for 162 yards, including 93 rushing yards from Davis Hobbs, but couldn’t get anything going through the air, completing just one pass and throwing two interceptions.
Wilson got its first touchdown midway through the first quarter, as Colby Scott ran for a 7-yard touchdown to put the Warriors up 7-0.
Wilson struck next on the first play of the second quarter, as quarterback Chris Silva threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Scott that gave the Warriors a 14-0 lead they would take into halftime.
The final score of the game came in the final seconds of the third quarter, as Jacob Blasingame rumbled in the end zone from three yards out.
Luke Claunch led the Elkmont defense with five tackles, including three tackles for loss.
The Red Devils fell to 2-5 overall and 1-3 in Class 4A, Region 8, while Wilson improved to 3-4 overall and 2-3 in region play.
