UPDATE: The victim was transported by Athens EMS to Huntsville Hospital. The suspect, who is driving a blue van, is being sought by authorities.

 First responders are en route to Jennings Chapel Road because a woman has been struck by a vehicle, according to dispatch reports.

Reports said the man driving the vehicle fled the area. The victim is reportedly conscious and speaking with those at the scene. 

According to dispatch reports, the victim has a gash on the back of her head and shoulder and abdominal pain.
