Friends, family, homecoming. Peace Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate their friends and family day and homecoming 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at the church, 1214 Plainview Circle, Athens. Notable guests include Pastor Larry Lockett and New Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church.

Gospel meeting. West Hobbs Street Church of Christ will hold a gospel meeting Sunday through Wednesday Saturday, Sept. 23-26, at the church at 1602 W. Hobbs St., Athens. Bill Cantrell, minister at East Huntsville Church of Christ, will be speaker. Topics include: Descriptions of the Gospel, 9 a.m. Sunday; The Lord’s Last Forty Days, 10 a.m. Sunday; The Triumph of the Cross. 1:30 p.m. Sunday; God’s Expectations of His Children, 7 p.m. Monday; Rejoice in the Lord by Turning Loose, 7 p.m. Tuesday; and Keep Your Focus, 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Silent auction/bake sale. The youth ministry of May’s Memorial Baptist Church, 23636 Alabama 251, will host a silent auction and bake sale 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29. Auction items, including sports tickets, vacation rentals, autographed Gus Malzahn football, gift certificates from area businesses and more — will be sold to the highest bidders. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. Proceeds help fund the group’s annual trip to the Strength to Stand Conference in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Clothing giveaway. There will be a clothing giveaway 8:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church, 740 W. Sanderfer Road, Athens.

Pastor anniversary. Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church will hold an 11th anniversary service for the Rev. Timothy Townsend Sr. and the first lady Sunday, Oct. 7, at the church at 27971 Easter Ferry Road, Lester. Pastor Charles Simmons and Little Ezekiel M.B. Church will be on the program at 11 a.m. Pastor Ernest Williams and Mount Zion M.B. Church of Toney will be on the program at 2:30 p.m. Lunch will be served. Everyone welcome.

Concert.HCCNA will host a concert featuring Kavita Krishnamurti, a Bollywood playback singer, at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 607 Airport Road SW, Huntsville. After-school program. David’s Temple Missionary Baptist Church will host an after-school program for grades K–12 from 3–5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
