- Fans run to join the fun at Superhero Day 2018.
The parade may be over, but the fun is just beginning at Eli’s Block Party and Superhero Day! The day kicked off with a parade from the Clinton Street Courthouse Annex that ended at Big Spring Park, where booths, activities and plenty of photo opportunities with superheroes are available until 3 p.m. today.
This event is held annually in honor of Eli Williams, also known as Eli the Eliminator, who lost his battle to pediatric cancer last year. The block party raises money to help fund the research of Dr. Theodore Johnson at Children’s Hospital of Georgia. Eli’s parents credit Dr. Johnson with giving Eli an extra 16 months of life before his death at age 12.
