Alabama adds 5-star point guard recruit for upcoming season

TUSCALOOSA (AP) — Alabama has signed highly rated point guard Kira Lewis and he will be eligible this season.
The 6-foot-3 Lewis graduated early from Huntsville’s Hazel Green High School and reclassified for the Class of 2018. Lewis has enrolled for the fall semester.
Lewis is a five-star prospect who was rated by 247Sports as the No. 5 point guard and 26th-best overall recruit.
Crimson Tide coach Avery Johnson on Thursday called him “an upper level talented player” who’s quick and can shoot.
Lewis was Alabama’s Class 6A player of the year in 2018. He averaged 28.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.9 steals in leading the Trojans to the playoff semifinals.
Other teams recruiting him included Indiana, Kansas, Baylor, Providence and Auburn.
