GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Authorities say five inmates who escaped from an Alabama jail have all been recaptured.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office tells news outlets in a statement the inmates used the Guntersville jail’s ventilation system to escape Tuesday morning. The statement says the problem that led to the escapes was identified and corrections are underway.

Jail records say the inmates are 28-year-old Brian Eugene White, 30-year-old Benjamin Justin Cameron, 27-year-old Baldemar Davila, 22-year-old Damon Blade Dempsey and 30-year-old Adam Bouchelhi Dean.

Authorities say Dempsey and Dean were captured in Guntersville hours after they escaped. Davila and White were taken into custody at an Altoona home in the afternoon, while Cameron was caught in Albertville.

It’s unclear if they have lawyers or if authorities will announce new charges in connection with the escapes.
