Shooting reported in eastern Limestone County

A woman was reportedly shot at their home during a domestic incident in eastern Limestone County about 12:20 p.m. today. Both the man and woman were reportedly armed. Sheriff’s deputies have detained both the man and woman and have recovered a shotgun that was thrown in a ditch. 

According to emergency radio dispatches, the suspect — possibly armed and wearing gray shorts, a gray muscle shirt, a black hat and blue shoes — was walking on Railroad Bed Road on foot following the incident. He was headed toward a Mapco at the intersection of Old Railroad Bed Road and U.S. 72. The woman, who was also armed, stopped at a church parking lot in the area and then went to the Mapco at some point.
