A call about a person going through a barn led Athens police to charge a Madison man with burglary, an official said.

Chief Floyd Johnson said his department received a call about a man seen going through a barn in the 2200 block of U.S. 31 South. When officers Jason Threet and Randy Vickers arrived, the suspect — 24-year-old Blake Scott Burgreen of 11685 Burgreen Road — was looking inside the window of the victim’s garage.

Threet and Vickers apprehended Burgreen and charged with him third-degree burglary.

After being booked at the police department, he was taken to the Limestone County Jail.
