• Celebrating 120 years. Athelstine Lodge No. 71 F.&A.M. invites the public to worship as it celebrates its 120th anniversary. • Men’s conference. Pastor Cordell Hunter will host a men’s conference (Arise Jonah) at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Hampton Inn, 1222 Kelli Drive, Athens. SST-stepping team will perform. Event is free. More information: 256-226-2821.
• Homecoming. Little Ezekiel Missionary Baptist Church will host a homecoming celebration 11 a.m. Sunday, July 1, at the church. Pastor Jerry Foster and Newby’s Chapel M.B. Church will be guests. All are invited.
• Pastor appreciation. Frazier Christian Methodist Episcopal Church will host a pastor appreciation celebration honoring the Rev. Tina Swan-Branch at 10 a.m. Sunday, July 8, at Frazier CME Church, 1108 S. Hine St., Athens. The theme will be “Rooted and Grounded in the Love of God” with a focus on Ephesians 3:17–19. Guest speaker is Minister LaWanda Stafford of Love Alive Ministries. Soloist is Sister Frances Carol Malone.
• Family and Friends Day. Elkmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America will host a day for family and friends at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8. Guest preacher will be the Rev. Dr. Louis Malone of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church in Rockford, Illinois. This event is open to the public.
• Revival. Peace Missionary Baptist Church will host a revival series at 7 p.m. July 11–13 at the church, 1214 Plainview Circle, Athens. Speakers include Peace M.B. Senior Pastor Jimmy Bailey and Pastor Leroy Elliot of Greater St. John C.M.B. in Chicago.
• Gospel singing. Gospel singing to benefit Project Lifesaver of Limestone County will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Berea Baptist Church, 16779 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens. The event features The Brandon Pylant Family, the Terry’s and Revived. Admission is $5.
• Friends Helping Friends. Tennessee Valley Youth Rally 2018 will be at noon Saturday, July 14, at McCandless Hall, Athens State University. Theme is “Pressing Toward the Mark; It’s Time to Move Forward (Phil. 3:12-24).” Topics include drugs, bullying, suicide and God’s way of escape. Guests include The Rescue Me Project, Faith Walk Christian Drama Team, Gary White.
• Honoring women. God’s Women Ministry will host its Women on a Mission from God event at noon Saturday, July 21, at Athens-Limestone Public Library. Will honor pastor Regina Sanderfer Willingham, pastor Elizabeth Gray Raybon, minister Jan Burton, minister Janice Williams and Jan Matthews. Cost is $25. More information: Janet Sales, 256-431-3821.
• Summer program. New Life Assembly in Athens is now enrolling children for its summer program, which will include field trips, games and water days for children in grades K-5. Program runs 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from now until Aug. 4. Cost: $35 nonrefundable registration fee; $125 per week plus one time $75 activities fee for full time; $35 per day for part time or $45 on field-trip days.
