Temple anniversary. Hindu Cultural Center of North Alabama will hold its temple anniversary today and Sunday at HCCNA.

Coxey VBS. Coxey Church of Christ will host “Bibles and Beakers” as part of its vacation Bible school program, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. today at the church at the intersection of U.S. 72 West and New Cut Road in Athens. Participants will learn about the days of creation, conduct science experiments and create art projects. Snacks and lunch provided. Adult class available.

Homecoming/anniversary. Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church will hold its homecoming and church anniversary 11 a.m. Sunday, June 24, 803 Westmoreland Ave., Athens. Guest speaker John L. Women’s Day. James Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 814 Lucas St., Athens, will host its annual Women’s Day celebration 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24. Theme is “Covered from Head to Toe.” Minister Martha Jones of Little Elk Missionary Baptist Church will be featured speaker. Ladies encouraged to wear their best Sunday hats as tribute to the wonderful women who wore hats to church in previous generations as a symbol of respect and dignity. Commuity invited.

Men’s Day. Village View United Methodist Church will hold Men’s Day 3 p.m. Sunday, June 24, with pastor Eugene English providing the message and Little Elk Male Choirs singing the songs. Everyone welcome.

Give Away Day. Food, clothing and household items will be given away at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Discovery Church at 1207 E. Forrest St., Suite G, in Athens.

Super Sundays. Walnut Grove Community Church will host last of Super Sundays events 6 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at the church at 27600 Walnut Grove Road. Special guest.

Celebrating 120 years. Athelstine Lodge No. 71 F.&A.M. invites the public to worship as it celebrates its 120th anniversary. Gospel singing. Gospel singing to benefit Project Lifesaver of Limestone County will be 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 13, at Berea Baptist Church, 16779 Lucas Ferry Road, Athens. The event features The Brandon Pylant Family, the Terry’s and Revived. Admission is $5.

Friends Helping Friends. Tennessee Valley Youth Rally 2018 will be at noon Saturday, July 14, at McCandless Hall, Athens State University. Theme is “Pressing Toward the Mark; It’s Time to Move Forward (Phil. 3:12-24).” Topics include drugs, bullying, suicide and God’s way of escape. Guests include The Rescue Me Project, Faith Walk Christian Drama Team, Gary White.

Honoring women. God’s Women Ministry will host its Women on a Mission from God event at noon Saturday, July 21, at Athens-Limestone Public Library. Summer program. New Life Assembly in Athens is now enrolling children for its summer program, which will include field trips, games and water days for children in grades K-5. Program runs 7 a.m.–6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from now until Aug. 4. Cost: $35 nonrefundable registration fee; $125 per week plus one time $75 activities fee for full time; $35 per day for part time or $45 on field-trip days.
