3 arrested on marijuana trafficking charges

Three people from California were arrested Friday on felony drug charges as part of a Madison-Morgan County STAC team operation, according to a press release.
The arrests occurred at 8580 U.S. 72 West, which is the address of the Walmart just east of County Line Road. Agents recovered about 21.8 pounds of marijuana and $11,370 in cash.

Arrested were 37-year-old Somlak Zueluen Getty, 40-year-old Teddy Anim Asiamah and 32-year-old Ade Fadliwijaya Karre. Their bonds were each set at $150,000.
“After the arrests were made, it was discovered that someone connected to the arrestees was alerted and advised to remove an amount of drugs being stored in a hotel in Macon, Georgia,” the release said. “Authorities in that jurisdiction were immediately notified and able to execute a search warrant seizing an additional 7 pounds of marijuana.”
The STAC team is a multijurisdictional federal drug task force led by the Huntsville Police Department. Participating agencies include Decatur Police, Madison and Morgan County Sheriffs departments, Madison County District Attorney’s Office and the FBI with part-time participation from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
