“We have two beautiful campuses with devoted faculty and staff, and our instant admission day offers students who are interested in furthering their education an opportunity to see how Calhoun can assist in reaching their education and career goals,” said Dr. Pat Wilson, vice president of student services.

Instant admission days are as follows:

Computer support specialist course offered

Calhoun recently announced the addition of a course designed to help prepare students for a computer support specialist career, according to a press release.

The goal of the short-term, noncredit course is to prepare students for the CompTIA A+ exam, while also providing skills in problem-solving, troubleshooting and customer service. Students who successfully complete the course should also become proficient at installing and updating hardware and software and finding solutions to common technical problems, the release said.

The course begins in July and will meet two evenings per week through October. Because the course meets the criteria for high-wage, high-demand career training, it has been approved for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) funding, meaning students who qualify may take the course at no cost. To determine WIOA eligibility, students should contact their local career center.
