Two men fighting over a woman Monday night led to one man breaking his arm and another man being arrested, an official said.
Athens Police Chief Floyd Johnson said his department received a call at 10:30 p.m. about a fight in the area of Third and South Houston streets. When Lt. Dusty Meadows arrived, he found several subjects yelling and screaming.
Meadows and Sgt. Eric White were able to get everyone separated and got medical attention for one 48-year-old man whose arm was broken after being hit with a stick.
“Apparently there was a disagreement over a female,” Johnson said.
Police arrested 37-year-old Carlos Antawan Royles of 1400 Acorn Hill Circle, Athens, on one count of second-degree assault. After being booked at the Athens Police Department, he was taken to the Limestone County Jail. Bond information was not available.
