A Limestone County Sheriff’s Office official said the department had received a report of a stolen truck after a murder suspect from Florida crashed a vehicle in the Harvest area.
Spokesman Stephen Young said a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 was reported stolen on Long Road. Young said investigators doubted the vehicle had been taken by 45-year-old Steven Brooks because the distance between where the truck was taken and the law enforcement perimeter was 9 miles.

On Wednesday night, the marshals and local law enforcement surrounded a home on Logan Berry Lane in Harvest, according to a report by WAFF-48.
“At some point, he came out of the garage in a vehicle, striking two U.S. marshals’ vehicles. He did a turn in the road in front of the residence, and the pursuit started. The pursuit continued out to this area of Yarborough and Love Branch Road or County Line Road,” said Lt. Donny Shaw of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
During the pursuit, which spanned several miles, Brooks drove onto a wooded property. His getaway car caught on fire, but he was able to get out of it and dodge police. A perimeter was set up to surround the area.
It is unknown how much time lapsed between the crash into the woods and when the truck on Long Road was stolen.
Brooks was reportedly in possession of the truck when he was pursued by authorities on Interstate 70 in South Strabane, Pennsylvania. The pursuit ended in a police shooting, and Brooks was killed.
