Scattered damage has been observed in northern Limestone County as a tornado moved through earlier this evening.

According to dispatch reports, trees and utility lines are down along Alabama 127, Happy Hollow and Leggtown roads. Deputies may be directing traffic in areas where damage has been reported.

The storm that caused damage in Elkmont moved toward Ardmore. A funnel cloud was reported by storm spotters near the Alabama-Tennessee state line.

According to Athens Utilities, crews have been dispatched to assess outages and are working to restore power to affected locations.
