Athens takes shutout victory over Grissom

Jacob McNairy had a big game for Athens as the Golden Eagles took a 6-0 baseball win Tuesday over Grissom.
McNairy had three hits, including a double, a walk, two RBIs and a stolen base in the victory. Two Athens pitchers combined for the shutout, with Kade McHalffrey getting the win with five strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings while Julian Revas picked up the save, striking out five in 2 2/3 innings.
East Limestone 12, Athens Bible 0
East Limestone took a big win over Athens Bible, with Carlton Schmeider leading the way.
Schmeider had a home run and three RBIs for the Indians, while Reis Browning struck out seven batters in five innings of work.
Jared Simmons led Athens Bible with two hits.
Girls Soccer
West Limestone 10, Athens Bible 0
Cassidy Winter scored four goals, all in the first half, to lead West Limestone to a victory Monday over Athens Bible.
Katherine Medrano also scored two goals in the first half, while Stephanie Marcial and Carlie Winter also tallied goals.
Roxanne Ramos Vicente scored two goals in the second half to complete the victory.
Calhoun Baseball
Calhoun 6, Northwest Mississippi 1
Will Snipes had a big day at the plate to lead Calhoun Community College to a victory over Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Snipes was 4-4 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs. Justin Booker and Charlie Crane also added two hits.
Colin Chamblin picked up the win on the mound, pitching six innings and allowing just one run. He gave up just four hits and struck out 13 batters.
Calhoun will play again Sunday at Northwest Mississippi.
