A Madison man has been formally charged with manslaughter in the death of a Tennessee motorist in 2016, records show.
The Limestone County grand jury recently indicted Stanley Gerrod Wiggins, 29, of 12082 Southern Charm Blvd., on the charge. A Limestone County sheriff’s deputy arrested him on the grand jury warrant Thursday. He was released from the Limestone County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond, records show.
Limestone County District Court records do not indicate specifically what Wiggins did to merit the manslaughter charge.
He is accused of causing the death of Susan T. Wilson, 54, of Burns, who was injured Oct. 12 in a two-car crash on Interstate 65 at the 348 mile marker, about two miles south of Athens. Wiggins’ 2013 Kia struck Wilson’s 2016 Subaru, according to state troopers. Wiggins and a passenger in his car were also injured in the wreck.
The crash occurred at 3:14 p.m.
