Athens State University President Dr. Bob Glenn is a finalist for the position of president at Clarion University in Pennsylvania, according to a published media report.
A report published Monday by Trib Total Media said Glenn is one of three finalists for the position. Clarion University is located about 75 miles north of Pittsburgh. It has about 5,300 students on two campuses in Clarion, Pennsylvania, and Venango, Pennsylvania.
Glenn and the two other finalists are scheduled to appear at public forums this month, the paper reported. Glenn’s open forum is set for 3–4 p.m. EST.
The school is seeking to replace former President Karen M. Whitney, who has been named interim chancellor for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.
According to the Trib Total Media report, the presidential search committee will meet March 14 to vote on two finalists, whose names will be forwarded to the Clarion Council of Trustees. The final selection will be made by the State System Board of Governors.
Glenn, who has been at Athens State University since 2008, was interviewed in September for the position of president at Fairmont State University in West Virginia.
